Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

This Procter Pest-Stop Multicatch Metal Mousetrap is a high quality corrosion-resistant galvanised steel live-catch trap that is designed to catch and hold up to 10 mice at the same time. The trap is suitable for use both inside and outside. This Multicatch trap is frequently used by professional pest controllers where there are more than one or two mice present in preference to using poisons or conventional breakback traps. Simple to use, the trap needs no setting, simply place a little bait inside using either chocolate, some raisins or peanut butter, and the mice will go in and not be able to get out.

The trap is fitted with a clear plastic lid that ensures you can see at a glance when you have caught some mice.

For best results the trap should be placed in a dark place adjacent to a wall with the entrances closest to the wall.

To ensure that the captured mice do not suffer distress, the trap should not be placed where it can get too hot in direct sunlight and should be checked at regular intervals.

Product Description

Pest Stop Multicatch Humane Mouse Trap Metal PRCPSPMMT

The Multicatch trap is designed to capture and hold up to 10 mice at the same time, without harming them. A one-way flap entrance resets itself after being triggered, allowing more mice to enter and be caught.

* Tunnel design serves to attract mice to enter the trap.
* Flap resets automatically behind the mouse when it crosses it to reach the bait.
* Removable label reveals a clear plastic lid, which means you can see at a glance when you have caught something.
* Plentiful ventilation points reduce stress to caught mice.
* Easy to bait and set each trap is provided with full instructions for use.

NB: Mice carry a variety of diseases, and should never be handled without protection. To minimise distress to captured mice, traps must be checked regularly (preferably every 2 hours), and should not be left overnight.

Excellent trap 17 Jun 2009
Having had mice for a while, I found this trap excellent. Not only have I succeded in catcing several mice at a time (before it was one a night), it is also the only one where I have not found the bait gone and no mouse (this happened sometimes with the 'trip-trap' style catchers, and all the time with the 'balance' style catchers). As such, I really recommend it. Also, as one reviewer had no luck: follow the instucions, place it on a wall, with the entrances wall side, and the mice will go itn - its not that they're not interested in this trap, but they need to find a way in!). In my experience nuts and chocolate make the best bait.

I had previously tried the humane single mousetraps but always felt terribly guilty at the distressed appearance of the poor creatures when I let them out. One even died before I had a chance to release it and looked as if it had had a terrible experience. These multiple mousetraps offer the mice far more space to move about and I add sawdust and hay, as I have a supply for my daughter's pet guinea pigs, which makes a much more comfortable and appealing environment for the mice. One or two of the mice have managed to curl up and fall asleep in the trap, which is otherwise a rather cold, bare space for a poor, distressed mouse. It also makes cleaning the traps out afterwards much easier. I add a swipe of peanut butter onto a discarded juice carton lid and some bird food and I have caught 7 mice so far in the space of a month or so. I had been hearing their scratchings and scuttlings all over the house, particularly at night, between the floors, behind the walls and above the ceiling and I was really wondering how I was going to be able to catch any of them. I bought two traps and put one in the adjoining garage and one in the attic but despite checking every day for three weeks, there were no mice caught. Suddenly one weekend, there were three, then a gap of two weeks, then another three, then a gap of a week, then I caught another one, so obviously the thing is to be patient but check the traps two or three times a day. Of course, most mouse activity is at night so it is important to check them first thing in the morning. I leave the mice in the traps and drive them to a local beauty spot beside a river to release them, where I think the habitat will be suitable. The mice I am catching are wood mice and they are incredibly cute so I am concerned to place them in a nice woodland environment away from houses with cats and to give them time to adapt to their new surroundings. Altogether I am very pleased with the traps, which are a great improvement on the single traps.

Seems Very Humane 8 Nov 2008
By Dazekat
Just caught my second mouse with one of these and it seems very effective and humane - much more so than the small tilting plastic one I had before (the mouse I let out of this one had a very damp and stressed look to it). If you put food and a lidful of water in the trap it doesn't need to be checked every three or four hours either - you can sleep overnight or go out with a clear conscience. An old toilet roll core gives the mouse somewhere relaxed to hang out.

The mice in our house saunter in and out of this trap eating whatever bait we have left out for them. They do not seem to know that they should not be able to get out again.
