This book I have read from cover to cover since buying it and is an essential book for anyone interested in product design or design in general. As an architecture student it is always interesting for me to see how other people conceptualise, develop and produce their designs and in that sense this book is superb. The book itself has a manufacturing slant to it so almost each project uses a different manufacturing process which gives a good insight into the capabilities of different processes.
The most useful aspect of this book is the graphic illustration of the whole design process which takes you from the inspiration or concept behind a project through to initial sketches, models and prototypes as well as showing how the product is manufactured. In some cases the design of the product reflects the manufacturing process to reveal a completely original product. Almost all the designs in the book are revolutionary and interesting and makes you wonder what you might be capable of.
