Ideal for use on the barbeque in good weather our best selling double sided cast iron griddle retains heat brilliantly so meat and fish will cook thoroughly whilst retaining moisture and flavour. Rain stopped play? Then bring the griddle indoors and use on the hob over two rings. Perfect for fat-free cooking use the ridged side with its fat / juice channels which drain away excess fats for meats and fish giving a perfect stripy seared finish or the flat side as a hot-plate to cook eggs tomatoes mushrooms fried breads pikelets or scotch pancakes. Best stored in a dry place and oiled regularly before and after use to prevent rusting. Suitable for all heat sources but extreme care is required if using on a ceramic hob to avoid scratching the delicate surface. Not dishwasher safe. 49cm x 26cm.25 Year Guarantee.

Negatives: As the handles are integral to the design they heat up as the griddle does so always always wear good oven gloves, but beware as a gas flame could easily catch the material if you are not careful. The instructions mention not using oil on the griddle as it will burn off in a big smokey episode...so make sure you coat what ever you are cooking with oil instead atherwise you will leave half of it stuck to the griddle. (still expect some smoke).
Positives: Great size griddle that heats up well when using a gas flame, double sided which is a bonus, very weighty and keeps the heat impressivley, easily cleanable with a sturdy brush and finally adds an incredible amount of flavour to steaks and chicken fillets...I will never cook them any other way!
Would definitely buy again.

i,ve wanted one of these for a while instead of using my pricey non-stick pans, after ordering i was delivered this one in less than 24 hours after ordering. it is really good i have an induction hob and it spans over 2 elements, the reason for the four stars is because the seasoning of the grill had my kitchen full of this rancid smell of hot burning oil, i think it would be better all round if these were pre-seasoned and the price was a little higher anyway all in all my welsh cakes came out a treat.jb

I have coveted one of these for years, but only ever looked in the shops, where one from a certain well-known cast iron casserole maker always tempted me but the ludicrous price put me off - at least 3-4 times the price of this. I was thrilled to find this one. We have a large 5-burner gas stove, where the middle burner is not the usual large circular one designed for, say, a wok, but is a long narrow burner suitable for a fish kettle. Not owning a fish kettle, and not really liking steamed/poached fish much anyway, we have hardly ever used this burner, but it is absolutely MADE for a griddle like this. This one fits perfectly, it looks like it was built for the stove. The double sided design is excellent, but yes, seasoning it will fill your house with smoke. Apart from that, very pleased with it.

Indoor Bar-B-Q
