This is a great addition to my kitchen gadgetry! It holds both hardcover and paperback books and the hinged tab in the front is really good for holding back the pages (especially with the paperback books as they don't have the extra weight to keep them open like the hardcovers). And, like some others, there aren't any weighted chains in the way of reading your recipe while you're cooking. It helps to keep your books off your counter and getting messy while you cook. It's lightweight and folds flat so it can be easily stored away when not in use and it doesn't take up any space. Although I have a decent size kitchen, I don't have a lot of counter space (as it's mostly full of appliances and Pampered Chef dishes & gadgets) so this is better then one that doesn't fold down or that you can't put away. The oak colour is really nice as well. I would definitely recommend this product!

Was so sick of getting food and water stains all over my cook books and then getting in the way when i was cooking, and this has solved the problem perfetly! I've got a modern kitchen and was worried that the wood would look old fashioned, but it really doesn't. Perfectly holds open all types of books, and has adjustable hight which makes it totally easy and possible to get it to just the right reading angle. And it stored away really small as it folds up. You have to take the book out to turn the pages or else you damage them, but that's okay with me. I'm sure you could use it to read from on your desk while typing at the computer etc. too, so wish i had had it when i was a student. Just love it, don't know why i didn't get it sooner!

This is a really excellent gadget for making a cookbook easily accessible while keeping it away from the work surface. The page holder is ideal for holding the pages open, the finish is attractive and the stand is very well made. My only slight reservation (and the reason for deducting a star) is that the prop at the back tends sometimes not to fit squarely in its groove - so far not a problem, but I wonder if a heavy book might perhaps cause it to twist out of the groove and so collapse the stand. But even if this became a problem it could be easily remedied, so I have no hesitation in recommending this book stand.

Great Quality & Value
Looks as good as in the picture, lovely wood, is sturdy and good value for money. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't fit really thick (cook) books on it. Read more

Looks great and does what it's supposed to
