paella meal, 2 April 2010
This review is from: ProCook Carbon Steel Non-Stick Paella Pan 38cm
I fouind that the pan gives an excellent all round heat. Using foil as a lid I was able to use the lowest simmer gas and the fish dish was cooked perfectly with non of the rice sticking to the pan. Excellent piece of kit for the price.

Non-stick Paella Pan, 27 Aug 2010
This review is from: ProCook Carbon Steel Non-Stick Paella Pan 38cm
I have only used once - good pan - but I didn't anticipate how large it was! I need to purchase a wok stand to be able to use again.

Excellent multipurpose pan, 21 May 2011
This review is from: ProCook Carbon Steel Non-Stick Paella Pan 38cm
Although this product is sold as a paella pan, it is a good multi-purpose pan that can be used on a hob, under a grill, even in the oven!
We got rid of our oven when the inlaws bought us a combination microwave/grill/oven some years ago (there's no large family to feed and the oven can handle anything up to a smallish goose) - the only problem was in using a pan on the hob and then using the grill to finish off, as the door must be closed on the combi oven, even if you are only using the grill or oven.
Saute/Frying pans with removable handles are generally made either for camping (and therefore too small for general home use) or ridiculously expensive - when you can find them - but this pan does the job excellently.
The flat base is perfect for stability (don't quite understand why some reviewers think a wok stand is necessary) and the non-stick surface is robust. In fact the only 'downside' we've noticed is that food cooks more quickly than in a conventional frying pan because the base is the same thickness as the sides of the pan - omelette lovers beware!
Even if this wasn't sold at such a low price, this pan would be excellent value for money. We bought the 30cm pan, which is more than adequate for a couple or small family.
