This is an excellent resource for anyone with an interest in professional blogging. If you have yet to launch your first "pro" blog, buy it today: I wish this had been available before I started mine (The Office Diet) back in January!

Darren Rowse is probably the biggest name in the world of blogs-about-blogging: owner of ProBlogger.com & the Digital Photography School blog and a founding member of the B5 media blog network. He's an expert who can still talk at a level which makes sense to beginners, and in this book, he and Chris Garrett (also an excellent and very well known blogger and blogging consultant) go through the process of creating a professional blog from choosing your topic to promoting, marketing, even selling your blog.

My one reservation when I began reading this book was that I feared it might be too "beginnery" (I've delved deep into the archives on Darren's ProBlogger.com and gleaned a great deal from there.) However, the early chapters were a useful brush-up of knowledge I was a little patchy on in places, and some of the later chapters -- such as those on selling and "flipping" blogs -- have given me a real insight into the high end of blogging!

Even if you're just thinking about starting a "pro" blog, you need this book. And if I've not convinced you yet, check out Darren and Chris's sites, both of which have an amazing wealth of free content. If you like what you read there, you'll love the book. Invest a few pounds and a few hours on it to truly boost your potential for blogging success long-term.

If I make it big with my next blog, I'm pretty sure who'll deserve the thank-you notes...

Very comprehensive book that covers pretty well all the basis and the best of the three I have read from a business perspective - i.e. how to make money from a blog - though one other book may have an edge for those less worried about making blogging pay £s. See my other reviews!
Small complaint - I would welcome more info on how to change from Blogger to another platform. The book says it is technically a little challenging to do this and leaves it at that - but there must be a lot of people fed up with limitations of the Google BLogger product who would like more info on how to switch.
Also, I did find Chapter 3 a bit confusing where it talked about the pros and cons between hosting, own domains and having your own blog.
Also, I'm still at a loss about how to save my blog posts (to disk) in case they get lost from the net. I would like something about this in a later edition.
But these are minor moans. It's still a good book and worth 5 stars.

ProBlogger: Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income provided a unique experience for me as a book. I bought the book a good few weeks ago and expected to finish it within a week. I announced on Twitter that I was looking forward to the book and warmed when one of the authors Chris Garrett sent a tweet 'hope you like it'. So beyond this book I can vouch for the fact that Chris definately practices what he preaches. It took me at least 4 weeks to complete to give myself time to implement what I learnt.

The book itself offers practical insights from a couple of bloggers who have been there and got the t-shirt every step of the way. From researching your blog, competitors, driving traffic, building a loyal audience, monetising your blog... this book has it all. It is also jam packed with case studies, practical tools and definately keeps your expectations real. A definate must read if you are setting up a blog, or have an established blog and would like to monetise your blog.
