5.0 out of 5 stars awe struck 24 Jan 2011
Format:DVD
This was the most amazing DVD i have ever watched on the subject of our planet earth. It presents the facts with such amazing logic..DESIGN REQUIRES A DESIGNER!
The evidence is overwhelming that our earth could not have placed itself in the universe at exactly the right position for life to exist..without any bias this dvd leads to the inevitable conclusion any thinking open minded person would arrive at..the planet was designed and placed in its position by God himself..watch it and decide for yourself..life changing stuff!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Our unique place in space 14 April 2006
By Amazed
Format:DVD
The DVD thoroughly and convincly shows our unique place in space. We live in the only habitable zone in the solar system, and the only habitable zone in our galaxy. In fact we are uniquely placed to witness the whole universe from where we are placed. It's as if we have been given a viewing platform to check out the wonders of creation.

Planet Earth provides all the special conditions to support life - gravity, the oceans, the atmosphere, even the closeness and size of the moon, the tilt of the earth etc, etc. The physical constants of the Earth and of the universe are working in harmony to such an extent, that some scientists have stated that they are "finely tuned" to support life on Earth.

I found the DVD absolutely amazing and thought-provoking.

5.0 out of 5 stars thought provoking documentary 25 Sep 2008
Format:DVD
Being of the sceptical kind and moderately inquisitive, I bought this DVD to add to the others about the cosmos and space that I have on the shelf. I wasn't really prepared for what I received....

This is easily the best and most thought provoking documentary I have seen in years!
It is not for the faint-hearted, yet very easy to digest and understand. Whoever produced this has done a brilliant job in explaining and simplify such a complex subject into an hour's worth of film.

The magnitude of space and eternity that this film reveals is awe inspiring. I watched the whole thing in one sitting and half way through it, I was at the edge of my seat.

The simplicity of what is set out so clearly in this study of our universe struck me afterwards, when I watched it again and looked at the extras on the DVD. I'm not an academic and not particularly bright, but it is easy to see why this is such an exceptional film.
My next purchase will be the accompanying book. The Privileged Planet: How Our Place in the Cosmos Is Designed for Discovery

Viewing this DVD has really made me think.
If you don't like to have your 'comfort zone' invaded, don't watch this.
But, if you're open-minded and want to reflect on the 'bigger picture', you will find watching this DVD a thought provoking experience. It made me feel very tiny and even quite humble.

(my friends didn't understand my excitement about this film, until I persuaded them to borrow mine or buy a copy for themselves)

5.0 out of 5 stars Something Special 12 May 2006
Format:DVD
Not so long ago I remember my family being captivated watching Carl Sagan's "The Cosmos" I now realise that this presentation of the Cosmos and other concepts such as "Darwins theory of evolution" devalues the great uniqueness of "Our Privileged Planet" I saw a TV presentation of The Privileged Planet and was awestruck as to how unique we really are. If you want to input something really meaningful into your spirit then get the book and watch the DVD. Great for the eye and for the mind. I am ordering copies for gifts for the rest of my family. I want them to know the truth!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Privileged Planet 3 Nov 2009
Format:DVD
On of the best documentary DVD I have ever seen. I am somebody that already believed in an intelligent designer but I was still amazed by the simple sound logic in this production.

For example: The only planet you can observe space from is Earth. It so happens to be the only planet with observers, human beings. Why? Strange one that. The solar eclipse brought some new discoveries, without which we would not have discovered vital information about the universe. The only place you can see the solar eclipse is from Earth, no where else. To get the perfect eclipse the Sun must be 400 times further away from Earth, compared to the Moon (because the Moon is 400 times smaller). This is exactly how it is, and that has allowed humans to discover all sorts of things. Why is that? How can chance just happen to bring all this together?

The DVD goes to explain the reasons why Earth is a Privileged Planet like no other. Yes the universe is massive, billions of stars in billions of galaxies, so most scientists assume that all this must have happened somewhere else. But what they fail to tell us is that what you need is liquid water, right distance from a star (not to far not to close), right type of star like our Sun, correct location in a galaxy, a planet that the correct size like Earth etc. All this amount to a lot of chances happening all at once to provide just the right conditions to allow life. The chances of this happening are trillions on trillions to 1.

If you watch this video and still don't believe that an intelligent creator was responsible for everything in the universe then I would suggest that you really don't want to believe it. You prefer a universe where there is no God, no creator because you don't want to answer to anybody.
