Wow, a great read about EP's army life and some brilliant photographs - many I had not seen before. Lots of pictures with fans over in Germany and EP in both uniform and civilian clothes. A good insight into this important era in his life. A must for any EP book collectors.

I have many books about Elvis. This one is particularly good. The photographs rare, many I have never seen before, Elvis looks so handsome. The details of his day to day life in the army are fasinating, according to his commanding officer Elvis was 'an outstanding soldier, displaying initiative and cheerful performance of duty'.
Photographs of Elvis at the Moulin Rouge in Munich show just how popular he was with women! My favourite comment is one by a columist for an American Army newspaer in Frankfurt who says one of Elvis's most remarkable fans was 'a 55 year old local spinster who dressed up in teenage clothes and twirled a hula-hoop in front of his house as a gesture of respect for her young American hero'!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, this book is the definitive one for Elvis in Germany in terms of its text as far as i'm concerned . The photos however leave something to be desired , no glossies here.
Who would i recommend it too? Soldiers, writers and hardcore Elvis fans. Not really for general(pardon the pun!) or new fans.

an exellent book very informative with lots of never before seen photos of elvis enjoying himself in germany i am going to bad nauheim in a few months time and will be taking this book with me for reference it came across from the photos that elvis loved being with his fans and did`nt take life too seriously then` a must buy for the true elvis fan TCB
