highs and lows of Ants PP&P series.

parts VII and VIII in Ants long running Private Parts and Pieces series.
Part VII Slow Waves and Soft Stars. This one goes on sort of a new wave synth approach. it is pleasing to the ear but similar to the track K2 on PP&P II that i did not particularly like is most of this album. there are some nice pieces including 2 new tracks with Enrique Barro Garcia of PP&P III, but overall this is my least favorite PP&P album that i have heard. the cd does not add anything bonus either making it not that appealing over my vinyl.
luckily the set has part VIII which was never on vinyl so was all new to my ears. and it is wonderful. featuring a bunch of other musicians this one has the most full sound off all the releases some great stuff here. i love Sunrise and Sea Monsters which has lots of stuff going on. plus we get two lovely Ant vocal pieces what a treat. this is a beautiful album that i am excited to listen to more in the future.
despite VII being a bit of a weak link in the chain VIII picks up the slack wonderfully making this another 5 star release get the cds!
