The times they are a changin!!!
More & more of us "Consumers" are either burning albums from our mates,or downloading them, because, let`s face it,it`s easier & cheaper for us all to do!
Iv`e heard that the future of our music purchasing may very well lie in downloading individual tracks from a bands new album on the net,& that this will replace our traditional visit to the local music store to buy a band`s whole album.
I must admit,I can see the logic in that.
I own about 300 Albums,on both vinyl & CD.
Each album has an average 12 song content.
4 of those songs on each album are fantastic tunes,& are the reason that I bought it.
Typically, the rest of the songs on each, have me reaching for the "Skip Button" and are really just album fillers.
This is where I finally get to my point about "Private Eyes"!!!
It is one of those very rare things,an album that you can leave on,& enjoy every track from start to finish!!!
The instant stand out tunes are the title track & of course the classic "I Can`t Go For That".
The intro bass line in the latter has been "borrowed!" by many other artists,(too numerous to mention)but here is the original.
"Head Above Water" is another great offering,as is "Looking For A Good Sign".
I noticed that the best selling Hall & Oates album on Amazon was, rather predictably, a "Best Of" compilation.
Of course,I would strongly advise anyone to buy the above,
but in addition, why not be a bit different,& buy yourself "Private Eyes"
It would definately be one of my "Desert Island Discs"
