Product Description

Review

"This is a very good book for undergraduate students of midwifery who are keen to enhance their knowledge of research and its application to practice. Cluett and Bluff have been successful in demonstrating how the principles of research can be applied to midwifery. They have achieved this in a style and format which is clear and easy to read." "Dr Rav Jayram", British Journal of Midwifery, Vol. 9, No. 1, 2001 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Review

"The book's layout enables easy access to the material which can be read in its entirety to gain a broad understanding of research, or it can be dipped into for reference purposes.

The book also contains plenty of checklists and midwifery examples to help the reader understand the application of the research concepts described.

This book is appropriately directed at midwives and students studying at undergraduate level. The content makes it a useful resource for students, teachers and researchers at all levels of experience, particularly if they are looking to refresh knowledge and understanding of research methods that are less familiar to them.?

Don't be fooled by the title - while both authors have a midwifery professional background this text is clear, comprehensive and should be accessable and of value to students and practitioners alike.

Throught the use of key topic boxes, information is provided in easy to access format.

I used this book to evaluate the care I received in my 2nd pregnancy after having discovered I had been misinformed of several facts about treatments in my first pregnancy and having several others facts not told to me at all.

This book was excellent and easy to read. It really allowed me to make an informed choice about my pregnancy and birth options resulting in an empowered yet safe delivery. I found it a really good source of information from which I could extract facts when discussing my options with my obstetrician. This allowed me to speak to him as an equal.

I would give it 10/5 if that was possible it was a God send for me.
