This text is first-class in every sense. Beautifully written, it explains tricky concepts in a non-intimidatory fashion and the empirical examples (eg C = f(Y)+ e etc) are referenced frequently. The text is particularly strong on Regression analysis and the discipline of Econometrics comes 'alive' in this context. This is the ultimate recommendation for this text.
Worth every penny and I can only describe it as an Econometrics 'bible', in secular terms.

Not for beginners, principles of econometrics is a well formed book detailing all the process needed for econometrics at an intermediate level. From an excellent introduction and brief overview of data collection and finding basic statistics through creating models for multiple regression and testing these thoroughly - this book has all you need. It is well laid out, with key formula and statistical tables in the covers and plenty of examples throughout. Coloured boxes highlight the key points and questions are included for checking your knowledge. An excellent text for intermediate econometrics.

This is a very good book for those studying econometrics. The book starts at a basic level and builds up knowledge over the subsequent chapters with well written, easy to understand explanations of the topic. There are markers for any material considered more advanced and which can be skipped for those at a basic level. This book is recommended for anyone doing econometrics. I found it a great help

Not as good as alternatives
This book is alright but for beginners I would definitely recommend either Introductory Econometrics by Jeffrey Wooldridge or Basic Econometrics by Damodar N Gujarati over this. Read more
