Product Description

Review

An outstanding text with a welldigested and comprehensive presentation of current views in developmental biology. It is a text I can enthusiastically recommend for adoption in developmental biology courses. (Richard Harland, University of California-Berkeley in Development, December 2011)

I agree with previous reviewer. Developmental biology is a hard subject - you have to grasp things in a three dimensional way, with time factored in plus grasping what genes and cell signalling is doing at the same time. Therefore, this book explains it about as well as can be. Also the terminology is great in developmental biology such as sonic the hedgehog!

The book was in great condition and arrived fast for a great price.

I needed the piece for my course. Sadly the book itself is slightly too tight packed with information and I am thus sure a better one is out there. So if you are getting a piece for just your own interest and not necessarily need this exact book, I recommend checking also out other ones to make sure you get the best one.

This is an excellent book, and one of the few available that covers development in such detail, but I found an error that would have cost me marks in my 3rd year exam if I hadn't known if was wrong, so use the book, but make sure the specifics are correct before you use them in examinable material.

Just a bit too wordy for me. doesnt to straight to facts as other text books would. Great diagrams though.
