Product Description

Review

An outstanding text with a welldigested and comprehensive presentation of current views in developmental biology. It is a text I can enthusiastically recommend for adoption in developmental biology courses. (Richard Harland, University of California-Berkeley in Development, December 2011 )

Review

"This new edition is a significant and positive step in presenting a complex field of study to undergraduate students."--Craig M. Scott, Clarion University

"I like the boxes in each chapter. Experimental technique boxes work well when the reader just wants to look up a technique. Boxes are also a good way to highlight concepts, or to go into detail on subjects that may or may not be covered in lectures."--Deborah Garrity, Colorado State University

"Very clear writing style that the students will appreciate, and very clear figures."--Margaret Saha, College of William and Mary

Very good 25 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
I agree with previous reviewer. Developmental biology is a hard subject - you have to grasp things in a three dimensional way, with time factored in plus grasping what genes and cell signalling is doing at the same time. Therefore, this book explains it about as well as can be. Also the terminology is great in developmental biology such as sonic the hedgehog!

Format:Hardcover
Presents the information in a logical and understandable way, as opposed to many alternatives out there that manage to make it all more complicated than it needs to be.

good book but if you dont enjoy the subject then you wont like this book. it does however waffle on a bit and gets a bit tedious in parts
