Product Description

Review

a practical text for students and professional interested in learning how to parent with attachment in mind an excellent book, and I would recommend it to every trainee and to parents... --Michael Cheng, MD, FRCPC

Product Description

Attachment security and affect regulation have long been buzzwords in therapy circles but rarely are they applied to basic parenting skills. This title brings attachment work inside the therapy room to the outside, equipping caregivers with practical parenting techniques rooted in attachment theory and research.

By Tarkus
Format:Hardcover
This book brings together Dan Hughes' ideas in a way that makes them more accessible than any other of his earlier works. The structure of the book is logical (always something I had struggled with previously) and the language clear. There is some jargon and some Americanisms, but these are not intrusive and the technical/theoretical description is firmly linked to practical examples. I would thoroughly recommend this both for professionals and for committed parents/carers dealing with children with attachment difficulties.

The best so far 20 May 2009
Format:Hardcover
This is Dan Hughes best book so far, it is clear, concise and altogether a much easier read for the UK audience. If you care for children with attachment difficulties and haven't tried Dan's methods give it a go, it often sounds bizarre but the results are fantastic, though remember it is not a quick fix!

I was on a recent training course facilitated by Dan Hughes himself and though the principles he endorses are basic and simple, they are genius. Definitely recommend this.
