I'm a first year radiography student and I bought this book because I felt that I needed to supplement the two other anatomy and physiology books (Moore & Daly - anatomy, Pocock - Physiology) that I purchased as part of my uni reading list. I am delighted with Tortora. The atlas is very useful as a quick reference and I appreciate the style of writing in the textbooks - it is much more reader friendly as it explains things more clearly that the other books on my list.
The diagrams are very good also although some of them do lack the detail of the diagrams in Pocock and Moore and Daly. I like that the content is split into 2 volumes - saves me a lot of backache!!
Please note that I am not in anyway saying that Moore & Daly and Pocock are insufficient books. I just benefit from the writing style of Tortora.
Some of my classmates use Tortora alone and are very happy with it as an all-rounder; I just like to have a variety.

I bought this book as I have anatomy and physiology exams for my Occupational Therapy degree course and this was the recommended text. I have to admit having not studied for a long time it took me a little while to get my head round some of the facts, but this book explains things very well. The pictures are beautiful colour illustrations. And you get a skeletal atlas free too. All in all a bargain! I found it useful to use this book in conjunction with Marieb's Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology as this explains things more simply, and I then looked at Tortora for more detail and a greater understanding.

These books are so worth the money, you get your money's worth with two thick volumes & a skeletal atlas. Such a good buy particularly for students would reccommend to anyone.

Anatomy Bible...
Definitely a book i would recommend if your course requires u to have an intense knowledge of anatomy and the pictures help learning in a remarkable way. Definitely a must have...

Excellent Quality and Very Informative Text!
These texts have proven to be well worth the money spent on them so far! They have great diagrams and examples and give a good overview of Anatomy and Physiology.
