3.0 out of 5 stars Hard to pin down but very funky, 5 Aug 2009
By Mr. Stuart Bruce "DonQuibeats" (Cardiff, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
It's really difficult to pin down this album. It's described on Wikipedia as an "electic mess-terpiece" and that's a nice term but just to *try* to give some sort of sense of it- it's an album drawn from the hip-hop 'anything goes' mentality where rock, pop and rap can be blended together at will.

It's consistently funky and stays interesting throughout. It has a very wide American feel to the production, even though I think Bumblebeez originate in Australia.

Sadly the problem is that there aren't any stand out tracks. After a while it becomes a bit 'backgroundy'. It could've been a bit stronger on the melody front.

At forty minutes long, this album's other drawback is that it's too short. It may have 16 tracks but a few of those are comic interludes rather than real songs.
