I bought this guide from a seller inside Amazon, and I was delighted with the piece of art it is by itself. I can't rate how helpful the contents are because I have long finished the game, and only wanted it to complete the "collection". The hard cover is lavishly designed and the paper quality is very good. I only wish that every merchant inside Amazon used the same packing as Amazon itself, to ensure proper protection of hard cover books (specially the corners).

Don't get me wrong... the guide is nice, the cover is beautiful (with the reflecting gauntlet) and the graphic design is good, but for a "collector's edition" guide you've to work a bit more... it only has the hardcover and a few pages at the end with several interviews (very interesting) and then some (great) concept arts. It's nice but only 200 pages, where the "Halo: Reach Collector's Ed." guide has almost 500. And IMO, the biggest fail is the lack of explanation in how to get the achievements... just a table, like the one you can see in your XBOX360 or PS3... meh.

I wanted to have a guide for this game, and played it at the time and enjoy, but I was missing something and this manual to complete my collection, thanks.
I forgot came in perfect condition.

Was Expecting a Bit More... 25 Dec. 2008
By Lode Sword - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I found the Prince of Persia Collector's Edition guide to be surprisingly sufficient with its content (walkthrough), which is unusual with my experience using Prima guides (the Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth guide is a waste of paper). The front and back cover is gorgeous, adorned with the Prince's intricately designed gauntlet on the cover, and one of Elika's incantations (?) printed on the back in gold. The paper is vibrant and of high quality, the text easy on the eyes. The only really "con" I could find was the explanations to solve the puzzle solutions were muddled and hard to much so that I caved and just searched for the solution on a search engine. Maybe it was just me?

Although the "behind the scenes" interview was an interesting read (especially the amount of thought that was used in creating Elika as a character and a much needed ally) I was somewhat disappointed with the "art gallery" section. Having missed out on the game's preorder bonus that included a digital art book (I've been told the bonus was great!), I purchased this primarily for that reason. Unfortunately, there wasn't much art included in this book at all. Most of the images are small (but not ridiculously so) and can be seen by beating the game (actually, a good chunk of them have been omitted from the book's art section), or performing a simple internet search. There was a particular picture in the game's gallery I was hoping to be in print because I couldn't find this one via internet search, but unfortunately for wasn't included. But for what it's worth, I love the art work regardless.

The exclusive art print is colorful, printed on a glossy 8x10 postcard-like sheet of paper (looks great framed, by the way!). I believe the art print is random. The copy I received illustrates the Prince standing in the shadows of a sand swept city, while I saw some one else's print had the Prince and Elika standing on a platform surfing on a sea of fire.

This latest installment to the Prince of Persia series REALLY doesn't need a walkthrough. However, I'd still recommend purchasing this book for the sake of its beauty and quality. If you have yet to beat PoP and still insist on using this guide, DO NOT read ahead, especially when you defeat the final boss. Prima authors seem to think players are too dimwitted to comprehend story events, and have a need to give away endings. The low price makes this book an absolute STEAL! I paid more for the MGS4 Limited Edition guide when it was first released!

Love the quality put into it! 8 Jun. 2010

Very impressed with the way this book is put together. Quality materials are used throughout. From the solid, tight hardcover, to the beautiful glossy pages. Pictures are numerous and well taken. Walkthrough is top notch. If your having difficulty finding all those light orbs, (I was) this is your companion. Great strategy guide, period!
Great presentation, some inaccuracies 21 Sept. 2009

I don't know if it's me, but it seems that Prima and Bradygames are getting slack these days.

This guide has a beautiful hardcover presentation with the gauntlet on the cover in a metallic finish. There are interviews with the designers as well as game artwork in the back of the guide as well, making this more than your usual game walkthrough guide.

The problem is, the maps are sometimes inaccurate, and the achievements for the 360 are described no more than if you examine them on xbox live. It literally repeats the list of possible achievements, in case you somehow forgot how to access them on your dashboard. It does offer some tips for a handful of achievements, but they are of little help. The maps of the light seeds was sometimes off, and I was better off just trying every nook and cranny in the game and hopefully the ones I could not find would be accurate in the guide.

I don't know if Ubisoft games are too complex for these guide makers, but the whole point of a guide is to point out everything in the game accurately and clearly. The assassin's creed guide as well as this one somehow managed to get past the editing and went straight to the final draft.

This guide still gets a good rating because of the collectible aspect, and the maps aren't as bad as assassins creed, but if you want help with the achievements you will have to go online.
Beautiful Edition, Glad to Own it. 28 Mar. 2009
By A. Dill - Published on
Format: Hardcover
Being that I already own the standard strategy guide, I bought this edition for its extra content.

The strategy guide itself does not run in a way that one would expect, with a walkthrough that guides you step-by-step through the game. Rather it tells you how to get through different "area's" of the game and leaves it to the player to decided which route to take. The most important section of the guide that should be considered is the 'Dynamic World' section, which tells you everything you need to know about how this game works. The following sections explain the different "area's," further details on how to defeat bosses, and where to find all of the Light Seeds in each area. The only thing I feel this guide is lacking is detailed suggestions on how to achieve certain trophies.

Since buying the collector's edition is all about the bonus content, I have to say I am extremely satisfied with what it includes. The hardcover is gorgeous and the art print that is included is of high frameable quality. The back of the book contains pages of beautiful and inspirational concept artwork, as well as interviews and explanations on the production of the game which I found very informative and interesting.

This is definitely a must-buy for any great fan of this game, and the price is amazing!
