This collection was the first ever released Prince video collection. For one, it was his most successful album not related to a film, and really the last album that was a big seller. Since he is probably one of the best businessmen in Hollywood, he picked the gorgeous Robia LaMorte as Pearl to be on his side as a dancer. You good never take your eyes off Robia, who still sparkles in other TV shows, like Buffy the Vampire and The Sentinel. While Prince had her on his shoulder, he also was still jamming great music. The most catchy tune is "Gett Off", his first single for the Diamonds and Pearls album. The video is his most provocative to date, whether the edited version or not. His next video was "Cream", which sold like wild fire in the States, beating Michael Jackson singles the same year from the Dangerous album. "Diamonds and Pearls" is a classic and so is "Money Don't Matter 2 Night". Yet, you can't resist "Strollin'" with just Diamond and Pearl roller skating in the park. The rest of the videos are as followed: "Call the Law", "Willing and Able", "Insatiable", with short concert sequences of "Thunder", "Dr. Feelgood", "Jughead", and "Live 4 Love". This time, Prince again was on target on who he picked to work with him. This is his best album of 1990's, and rightly so, as sales were great. Thanks for reading.

Released in 1991 along with his album of the same name 'Diamonds & Pearls' is essentially a collection of some of Prince's most impressive videos of the 90's.
All of the 'Diamonds & Pearls' era vids were well choreographed and stylish and easily rank amongst Prince's best, and here they are all compiled along with some brief live performance footage from Prince's equally as impressive Diamonds & Pearls tour.

The majority of the videos are excellent with 'Gett Off' and 'Cream' being the main highlights, the latter in it's full un-edited glory and lasting just under 10 minutes.
In between the performance videos, you are treated to some insightful little interview snippets with all the N.P.G members, including vocalist Rosie Gaines, bass player Sonny T., and :shudder: rapper Tony M.

Slapped on the end of the video is, probably, the strongest point of the whole compilation - a live performance of 'Live 4 Love'.
This alone, makes 'Diamonds & Pearls' well worth it's money.
An essential purhcase it may not be, but 'D&P' showcases Prince at the commerical height of his career and any fans of Prince's 1991 album will love this.

This video is a must for any Prince fans. It has concert footage, interviews with the members of the New Power Generation and full length videos for lots of Prince's most famous hits - such as Gett Off, Cream, Diamonds and Pearls, Money Don't Matter Tonight, etc, etc. My only complaint is that it states it has concert footage for Thunder but only shows the first few opening lines - I would rather have had the full song! But nevertheless, it's fantastic!
