and indeed it is as the quality of the vinyl is atrocious/for nearly 35 i would expect at least 180 gram deep cut virgin black vinyl/instead you get lightweight mix n match vinyl with so much surface noise it sounds like its been kicking around on a teenagers bedroom floor for a few years not to mention the that both discs are also very badly warped/its a shame as the whole package is quite impressive and the music is fantastic with both bands at the top of their game/if i wasnt such a die hard nadja fan this would have gone straight back but its saving grace is the cd

Top Notch Split 7 Jun 2009
By Corey Turner - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Vinyl
(This is just a quicky)

"Primitive North" is an amazing slow, dark, and sludgy album. It is the combination of A Storm of Light and Nadja. Red Sparrows and Battle of Mice share something in common with A Storm of Light, same front man. If you don't know those two artist check them out, especially if you've managed to wander this far off the beaten path. If you do then you are getting a glimpse of what this is capable of. The songs go from a barely conscious pulse, to a blazing loud eerie as can be last call. One doesn't have to be fully attentive to enjoy this, it is a rather easy going metallic album.

The album artwork is top notch. Housed inside are two vinyl records. In total it's a five gatefold, and the second record has an etched b-side. The two groups have played around with each others music, made it more atmospheric and never the less haunting. Depending on the the pressing you buy, a free cd is available (this is included with the 2nd pressing).

The first pressing comes on 'blood moon' vinyl, a barely noticeable faint red depending on the lighting conditions given. The other variant is of a blueish scheme, I believe it was called glacier.

The second pressing comes on either 'aurora forge' color, or 'phosphorescence'.

You can grab a copy while supplies last at Robotic Empires online shop for $19.99.

I'd write more, but I'm awfully tired and just couldn't bare to see a great album go unrecognized with no formal review.

Nadja's best song, and now I have it on vinyl. Delivered as promised, no issues whatsoever. Thank you very much!
