I have used this PC microscope to teach juniors & senior school children. It is a bargain! Imagine being able to record the heart beat of a glass snail, or time lapse of a crysalis breathing. We also photgraphed the antennae of a mosquito larva. With patience you can record videos, such as dragonfly nymphs breathing, or catching prey. It isn't perfect. It's hard to beleive this is a toy.
An engineering marvel!!! 200x magnification microscope in a small and lightweight package which can be connected via usb to the pc. With the screen size of ANY pc being much larger than the apparent image that u can see through a typical microscope, the magnified image appears larger than the stated 200x magnification. Highly recommended for all ages!!!
What tremendous value for money, and what a pity it is no longer available from Intel.
Although the stage and adjustment could be further refined, this is not a toy but a very useful mscope. This beats 'cheap' optical ones hands down and of course you can capture the images to file, and create time lapses.
Bought this to help with my geology and as abit of fun, but what a disappointment!. The magnification is rubbish after 10x, and even at 10x it only shows what you can see with the naked eye anyway (just closer)- no detail - nothing! Gave it to my 4 year old, after kicking myself for spending so much money on it! That's what I get for buying a 'toy' for my studies!!!
