Wow! This is the first of a new series and i can't wait to read more. There is a lot to this world created by JD Tyler, but the author feeds in more information as you go along making it easy to assimilate, even though it starts right in the middle of explosive action. What more can you want than ex-Navy SEAL shifters, secret government agency(?maybe), genetic experiments, and hunky males finding their mates amongst chaos? A lot happens in this book, but clearly there is more to come. Being a longer length novel you really get your teeth into their world and the unfolding back story from the characters. I look forward to reading more as the rest of the story is revealed in future books.

loved the 1st book in this series cant wait for more! this is a mix of J R Wards Blackdagger Brotherhood, a pinch of Gena Showalter's Lords of Underworld and a dab of something totaly new. loved how the story got started from the first page no long lead up! all the men have a special supernatural gift all also have a chip on their shoulder and J D Tyler gives enough on each so you are wondering when there book will be as far as I could tell from the sneek preview at the end Nicks is next cant wait already pre ordered it loved this hope the rest are as good, this sees Jax (wolf and timebender) getting his story he saves Kiras life when the men are all out in vegas for a bit of r&r, as she sees him taking wolf form the men take her back to the compound and Nick (there leader) where she finds herself a new job in the lab and helping with the other supernaturals that have been caught and held till the team can work out what to do with them. I liked this bit as its a change from other books to have a group of soilders holding prisoners for there safefy rather than them being pure evil( they do have a whole other floor for that) Kira is no push over and Jax is a hot alpha man (gotta love one of them), good twist at the end with one of the characters, loved this start and am looking foward to the next one

Well I cannot wait for JD Tyler's next offering!!! This one blew me away! Totally loved the characters, story & suspense and lets not forget the love! hot & sexy just the way it should be. I really enjoyed this book - just in case you didnt get that LOL!! It was the characters that did it for me, plus some suspense but not too much. I hate books where I end up yelling at the main characters to get their heads out of their a***, I dont mind some questioning moments, but if its too much I'll just walk away from the incessant own questioning of "do they or dont they love me".... could be why I like big and strong Alphas who know their own mind LOL!!! The other peripheral characters were also well written and you can see that JD has set up for a lot of books in this series if she wishes & I truly hope that she does.

Savage Awakening picks up where Primal Law left off. Aric Savage has been kidnapped and held hostage by Orson Chappell and the NewLife scientists along with Micah Chase who disappeared and was presumed dead six months earlier.

Micah's sister Rowan an officer with the LAPD continues to search for her brother. When she gets a tip about a hidden facility that may lead to news of her brother she heads there but encounters more than she bargained for.

Thrown into a world of things that she thought were nightmares Rowan joins the Alpha Pack to find and rescue her brother and their missing Pack brother Aric.

Eventually the Alpha Pack is provided with a lead and they rescue Aric and Micah.

Rowan is Aric's perfect counterpart. She's tough and witty similar to him and has a huge heart. Although Aric and Rowan's story is somewhat predictable it is also enjoyable. I liked JD Tyler's writing and I did not think it resembled JR Ward's writing in any way.

NOTE: Can someone please explain what has happened to the Kindle version of JD Tyler's books? Whilst reviewing this I have noticed that (according to Amazon UK) it is only available in book form which is bizarre as I have just read this version on my Kindle. There doesn't appear to be a Kindle version of Alpha Pack either. Any clues anyone?#

*****Not sure what's going on here- this is the review for SAVAGE AWAKENING which I HAVE read on Kindle but Amazon says is not yet re-leased in the UK????*****

Kira Locke is on the run from her employer after stealing important tissue samples from the lab where she works. She thinks something sinister is going on and wants to prove it. Unfortunately, she doesn't get far. As two men descend upon her with guns, a wolf charges out of nowhere and rips them apart. Reeling from what she's just witnessed, she's then shocked even more when the wolf transforms into a man. And a very sexy man at that.

When Jaxon Law, former Navy SEAL and member of a top-secret unit of werewolves with psychic powers, sees a pretty, petite blonde something happens to him, and all he wants is to save her, and lets his wolf free. Now she's has the knowledge that there are other creatures that walk among the human population, he takes her back to the Alpha Pack HQ, and his boss isn't happy about it.

Primal Law is a fun read, but although it has all the elements of a good paranormal romance it lacks the execution to pull all the pieces together. Sometimes the plot moves into being a bit silly, the dialogue between characters is a little stilted, and the pacing is slightly off. But I still enjoyed it. It was a solid start to a series, but not the best I've read.

Sometimes the heroine annoyed me. When she arrives at the unit's Head Quarters, and without any knowledge or understanding of what the place is about or what they do there, she is very quick to judge. They have several dangerous creatures locked up in cells, but instead of wanting to find out why, she jumps all over them telling them how disgusted she is that they treat these poor creatures so badly. And then, because of her so called empathy towards these creatures, Nick, the head poncho, decides to give her the job of looking after them and trying to get them to talk and open up. Just like that.
