Book Description

Professionally edited, a prequel to SUDDEN DECEPTION: A JILL OLIVER THRILLER

If only FBI Special Agent Jill Oliver had waited for her backup. But as any FBI agent knows, sometimes you can’t negotiate with Father Time.

Jill Oliver works as a Crimes Intelligence Analyst in the FBI Remote Viewing department—a clandestine department set up to assist Homeland Security. The FBI Violent Crimes Unit requests the assistance of the RV group to help track a brutal serial killer—The Iceman, also known as Matthew McGregor. The Iceman loves bludgeoning his victims to death in the face with an ice pick. When the RV group discovers his location, Jill Oliver soon finds herself in a horrific situation with no choice but to push past levels of physical brutality and psychological cruelty—levels that no human should ever have to endure.

This psychological thriller delves into the evil that lurks in the human spirit—uncloaking a shadow that will test your faith in humankind.

5.0 out of 5 stars unputdownable 6 Jan. 2013

I read Sudden Deception and was interested to know more about Matthew and his link to Jill Oliver's past. What can I say? Primal Deception exceeded all my expectations and I couldn't turn those pages fast enough! Well written, well structured and full of suspense, I was so nervous as to what was coming next. Matthew was deliciously disturbed and I thoroughly enjoyed the snapshots into his mind and Jill's terror in the caves. The suggestion of both of their past horrors was written with skill and subtlety, I just can't wait to read the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars sudden interest 16 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
to begin, I was unsure what I was reading, but quickly became engrossed in the narrative. the author managed suspense and fear of the unknown well and before long I was eager to find where I was being led.
The final chapters were a bit of a revelation, that left you piqued, waiting for more! Easily room for more of the same. does Jill end up with Jake? does she return to the FBI and RV'ing? I look forward to the next in what I hope is a series.

This book is just as great as the first one, if not even better. Sincerely hope this author will continue with the Jill Oliver series. This book ended with a cliff hanger. Can't wait to find out what happens next. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome second offering... 7 Dec. 2012

...I read Sudden Deception and waited eagerly for the release of Judy Price's second book. I was not disappointed! In this prequel, we learn so much more about Jill Oliver, and it really helps the reader to make sense of the first book. Tense and fast paced in equal measure, with plenty of subtle and not-so-subtle darkness, this book will appeal to any crime/thriller fan who is interested in the psychology of the criminal mind.

2.0 out of 5 stars ???? 6 Jan. 2013
By Jack H. Cooley - Published on Amazon.com

What the ?. The novel ended almost before it began. Many parts were simply not there: the rest of Jill's past, how she functioned after counseling, , etc. Too many innuendos here with too few explanations. The book was simply not finished. I was very disappointed with this book & wouldn't advise anyone to purchase it.

I found this prequel to be even more captivating than the first novel. I could not put it down, even though it was at times terrifying! If you like a good psychological thriller, you're in for a wild ride with this one!
