Product Description

Book Description
A major hardback book to celebrate the three great Cunarders,
Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and QE2. The author has written extensively on the three ships and has included hundreds of black and white and colour photographs of all three vessels being constructed and in service along with stories of their varied careers. The three great Cunarders were all built on Clydebank at the now closed John Brown shipyard. David Hutchings has been fortunate in locating many new photographs of the ships, including views of the Queen Mary sailing from the Clyde and arriving for the first time in Southampton in 1934. Many chapters are devoted to each liner and the period in service detailing their original plans for construction; life at sea; memories of the crew and in the case of the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, their rundown and taking out of service.

The book was published to co-incide with the launch into service of Cunard’s latest liner, the QM2, so the volume is a reflection on some of the greatest liners ever to sail the North Atlantic.

A collation of three ship biographies (two of which are out of print and widely sought after) brought together into one volume, with much additional material. Blue and gilt cloth binding and a wrap-round dust jacket.

Over 300 pages with colour and black and white photographs
