Product Description

"Price & Kensington includes everything a tea and cake lover could possibly need." As one of the traditional Stoke pottery brands with heritage dating back to 1896, Price & Kensington are historically known and loved for the ranges of teapots in all shapes and sizes that have launched over the last century. Over the years, the brand has developed to not only continue with its traditional Brown Betty, giftable Tea for Ones and cake accessories for tea lovers, but to also incorporate art and design ranges from other core English establishments. With the help of the Victoria & Albert museum and UK's leading artist, Nel Whatmore, Price & Kensington is expanding further into new and exciting arenas.

Whilst the quality of the containers was quite acceptable the lids were abysmal. They were flimsy, poorly made and all different shades and markings. They made the whole set look cheap and car bootish. If I knew where to contact the manufacturer I would do so and complain and see if there was anyway to redress this problem.

Whilst these jars are reasonably attractive, they are not airtight. The stoppers are wooden with what appears to be a sealing ring made of PTFE. Obviously, the neck varies slightly in size and precise shape so the PTFE sealing ring acts like spring on a slippery surface (the glazed neck of the jar) and forces he wooden stopper up and out of position so that the jar now leaks. I have two of these jars, one for sugar (Illustrated) and a companion for Coffeer. On damp days, the sugar gains clump together. Coffee loses its flavour in the jar made for coffee. I am looking for an attractive product which actually does work and then I will send these jars to the rubbish tip.See my review for the companion jar, made for coffee.

I have 2 of the jars, which I love; I have just had my kitchen re-modelled and these fit in with the colour scheme. I like the jars but I am not happy about the lids, which will not stay closed. The design needs to be rethought.
