Amazon Verified Purchase
This toaster looks absolutely great in its fashionable lime green colour. Sadly, what exists inside is a poor quality toasting mechanism that fails in almost every aspect of toast preparation.The toasting process is slow and unsatisfactory. The mechanism to raise the toast failed just over one year after purchase. Prestige is now on my "black list" for quality.

My charming and witty wife decided we needed a new toaster as the old one was looking a bit worse for wear and she was attracted to this bright green Prestige job. What can we tell you about it? Well, the controls are simple and all seem to work OK - I haven't managed to burn it out yet - and the slider control for the toasting strength appears to be reasonably accurate. Although not based in New York, I am an Englishman however I actually prefer my toast done on both sides and so the Prestige wins hands down. The colour shown on the web page is pretty accurate (to my old eyes) and is indeed a lovely bright green from the "art deco" period. We haven't managed to burn ourselves on it yet (retrieving that crumpet is the ultimate test) and so cannot comment on the reported "hot sides" danger. We therefore have no hesitation in recommending this fine piece of kitchenware (just don't tell Jen there's a matching kettle available;-)

Like the colour ,toast is very average. Need to turn the slice over to get even toast. It has 6 settings but anything above 1.5 burns standard white sliced bread. It really doesn't perform any better than my old cheap and cheedful toaster. After a few months the paint has begun to wear off and look scratched around the toast slot, probably OK if you like shabby chic but otherwise a low quality finish.

Good
Good solid toaster. Looks good on the worktop. The setting adjustment has to set surprisingly low for normal toast. Reheat works well. Does get too hot to touch.

The toaster worked well for 12 months and then the middle toasting elements stoped working.

bright and cheerful
This toaster is very neat and compact and very efficient so far.The colour is very bright and cheerful and really brightens up my kitchen ,would certainly recommend!

Great toaster
I am very pleased with this toaster. It works well, has well designed controls and looks great. If you only need 2 slices... why take up more room in the kitchen?
