PRINCIPLES OF PRESSURE COOKING Under normal conditions water boils at a temperature of 100°C (212°F).This temperature is dictated by atmospheric pressure and cannot increase no matter how long boiling continues. The weight on your. Prestige Cooker increases the pressure inside the cooker which in turn raises the temperature at which the liquid boils. The result is faster cooking time because of the higher temperature obtained and at the same time the steam is forced through the food, cooking and tenderising it. The 12 lb weight supplied with your cooker is set to achieve a temperature of 117°C which is ideal for the majority of daily recipes.
If you have any difficulty in using your pressure cooker or if you require spare parts please contact our customer care helpline on 0151 482 8282 or alternatively please write to: Customer Services Department, Prestige Meyer Group Ltd, Prestige, Wirral International Business Park, Riverview Road, Bromborough, Wirral CH62 3RH who will either deal with your enquiry personally or direct you to your local Prestige distributor.
