The film shows the Smurfs tumbling in to Central Park after being chased from their own world by the evil Gargamel and their quest to return to their own magical land before Gargamel tracks them down.

In the Race to Smurf's Village Game each player has to select a card, this card will tell you what color space to move to next. A Smurf berry or apple card can move you ahead. But a Gargamel card will always send you back. Be the first player to get to Smurf's Village to win. Contents include: Gameboard, cards, 4 movers, 4 mover stands, and rules. Game for 2 to 4 players.

The Smurfs board game is great fun for all the family. instead of a number dice, you have a colour 1. which makes it easier for small children to play too. they just have to move to the nearest box of that colour. My 6yr old loves it.

Ordered this game as Chirstmas stocking filler. My 5 year old son loves this game. The rules are simple and easy to follow:
(1) draw a card from the deck and move to the colour tile that matches the color on the card;
(2) draw one of the special tile specific cards, go straight to the tiles indicated;
(3) when near the Smurfs village, player has to draw a yellow card (the colour of the last tile) in order to reach village or stay put until he/she draw the right card; if a special card is drawn at this stage, then go back to the tile indicated by the card and start again;
(4) whoever reach the Smurfs Village will win the game.
Whether you love The Smurfs or not is irrelevent, the game plays well as a stand alone (no need to know the name of the characters). My son watched the TV show once but didn't like it, he loves this game.

The game was bought for our 6 year old son & managed to keep him and some of the in-laws quiet for an hour or so on Christmas Day.
Not sure how often it'll come out of the box though as there isn't much to it game-play wise, even for a 6 year old.
