It makes me feel a bit ancient, finding that Series One was broadcast 20 years ago! I was very wary about revisiting this series, but I shouldn't have worried - it is as good as I remembered.
I bought this because, for some reason, I suddenly recalled the episode where Kenny keeps getting a wrong number. That did it; I had to watch it again!
The cast are what makes it sing, and I am surprised how many of the regular characters immediately sprang back into my mind and became just as familiar and much-loved as they did way back when.
Only 4 stars, though, as the later series didn't quite match the excellence of the first two. Mind you, it is still good, but I feel that Kenny was an important loss. He was the heart of the paper, just as Lynda was the boss, Sarah the conscience and Colin the Macchiavelli.
