Product Description

Product Description

The times may change, but the legend remains: A dark wizard, a princess in peril, and an emerald-clad boy as the kingdom's only hope. Like all great fables of times long past, the story of Link has changed much over the years, retold in a new way for each coming generation, but timeless nonetheless. It's a legacy few other franchises can equal, and as we scream toward the latest adventure – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – it's important to know and celebrate why Link was elevated to the upper echelon of video game royalty.

That kind of legacy means walking a delicate line; constantly evolving with the times, yet carefully clinging to the foundations on which the series is built; keeping the series active and current, without tiring fans out. It takes a light touch, but that's precisely how Shigeru Miyamoto has maintained his good name. From the NES to the Wii, and every step in between, The Legend of Zelda has been there, never falling from view.

A brilliant guide to the history of Zelda, with plenty of information. I now feel even more educated in the ways of this classic game series. Definetly a must-have for Zelda fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars The games and the book 11 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book gave me a history of my well loved game zelda. As much as I play minecraft zelda is a well loved game that I played through the years. Some of my friends antvenom, skydoesminecraft, cavemanfilms and Doc exx also play the old zelda titles such as majors mask or the newer skyward sword I recommend you play zelda as it is funner then you would think.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Overview of a Great Series 29 April 2013
By Douglas McCoy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While I understand some of the negative comments in the other reviews, I enjoyed this book for what it was: a quick overview of the entire Zelda series. I was a player and lover of the original, as well as A Link To The Past and Ocarina of Time, but I've since lost touch with the series and have no way to catch up with it. This book is a perfect way, then, for me to get a taste of the series I love so much. Thanks to IGN for putting it out there. Check out my further thoughts on the book at [...]

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh...... 19 May 2013
By Fangirl - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So, I bought the book and read it. It's very short and could have more in it. They briefly described Nintendo's action into making the game, but they could have put more about the story into it, or tell more about the uniqueness of each title. (Ex: They could tell the reader a bout the sidequests in Majora's Mask.) It had some content, but for as a Zelda fan, I already knew most of what was mentioned.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, Lacks content! 9 Oct. 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This short book includes a nice beginning of the Zelda series, but as it moves forward to the newest members of the series it starts lacking the same amount of info and insight that the first have.
4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderfully rendered history to a well loved series 11 July 2014

This was a joy to read and out was fun to travel through the evolution of the Zelda series, that said I would have liked to have read about any rumors the author had heard regarding the future of the series.
