The Dick Powell style in marker rendering has become well recognised in product design illustration. This book will provide the beginner with useful information and techniques in markers and some other media. It's not really that broad and it's not really that deep but it's a good solid place to start, based on the skills and experience of an internationally respected designer.

I'm currently studying for A-levels, and haven't had the chance to use this book to its full potential as we only really use marker pens in our sketching. However, I am certain that when I begin studying at degree level this book will provide me with an excellent resource for learning how to present my ideas and drawings beautifuly. This is a must for all Product/Graphic designers.

I bought this book way back in 1985 when I was a student and still refer to it today. I know we all use computers these days but it is still quicker and more productive to sketch your ideas out.

The methodes they show in the book is outdatede. But a lot of the core fundamendtels is great.
