More About the Author

I am a gestalt trained psychotherapist, working in private practice since 1989. I have been involved in the work of constellations since the mid-90s, and particularly focused on trauma and the theories of Professor Franz Ruppert since 2005.
I have written three books so far, one on the subject of family constellations, and two on the topic of trauma constellations work. I find that writing expands my thinking and forces me to be organised in my thinking.. I have edited all of Franz Ruppert's books that have been translated into English. Editing is a very taxing discipline, which I also enjoy.
You can find out information about forthcoming events, seminars, workshops and my private work on my website: www.vivianbroughton.com. Also I have an ongoing blog on the website, which allows me to continue writing.

Product Description

From the Author

I feel satisfied with this book, in that my endeavour was to provide a basic text on working with systemic constellations, incorporating the later work of Professor Franz Ruppert on transgenerational trauma. I think I have done this usefully enough for now. I welcome any feedback readers may have, as my thinking develops and the field of the work develops.

From the Back Cover

Vivian Broughton draws on a variety of perspectives currently held in the field of Systemic Constellations and presents a graceful integration of thought and practice. Within this she provides much of her own thinking that grows out of this integration.
The book gives practical information, theoretical discussion and explorations of the stance and approach of the facilitator. At the same time she interweaves thinking about the place of Systemic Constellations within the field of psychotherapy and within the wider fields of organisations, businesses, politics and nations.
This is an optimistic book, working with proposals rather than assertions, having in mind the opening of doors for further exploration, comment and elaboration by others. She persistently endeavours to empower the practitioner, honour the client and value principles of trust, truth and the mysterious forces of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars In the Presence of Many: Vivian Broughton 8 Jun 2010
Format:Paperback
This is an excellent book. It is wide-ranging and thorough, and is set out in an accessible, clear way. It is practical and knowledgeable; reflective rather than didactic. Thus it will support new practitioners into excellent thinking about their developing practice and will be of great value to established practitioners as well. It is a wonderful training resource.
The author reflects on the constellations method, its origins and developments and on its underlying structures and applications. She discusses its use in group and individual settings. She offers suggestions and illustrates by examples and case histories. She includes reflections about different styles of facilitation and where these may be of help in different situations. Some material is presented in diagram form which is really illuminating. There is much material to support safe and ethical practice, and discussion about the considerations when working in organisational and business contexts which are different when working with personal or family ones.
Throughout, Vivian Broughton keeps in clear view what is beneficial, effective and helpful for the client. It is clear that this is her lodestone and guiding principle, and the measure by which she evaluates her practice and the suggestions she offers.
What comes across is that this book is written from a wealth of experience, which Vivian Broughton shares very generously.
This book is a really excellent resource. I cannot imagine anyone having bought it who would not find it extremely good value.
