I used this cable to connect my DVD player (component output) to my Dell front projector (VGA input) and it works great! The cables on the component side seem thin but the picture quality is fantastic which is all that matters. I''m very happy with everything.

This cable will not work if you just try connecting your laptop to a receiver or a TV. Youll need a special video card in order to do this.

Don't buy this cable if you want to connect a laptop with VGA output to a TV with component input. The product information says it will work but I can assure you that it doesn't for a Dell laptop to a Panasonic Plasma HDTV. Also the company doesn't answer my e mails requesting help

I tried to use this cable in order to connect a PlayStation 2 to a PC monitor. However, the monitor could not detect the signal sent from the video game console. If you are viewing this item for this kind of purposes, I do not think it will help you much. Cheers.
