Splendid graphics, but too many programming bugs. The list of bugs is so big that this space is not enough to display it. Is is not acceptable that a game could be released to the public without a minimal testing of its performance.

There's nothing like sitting up at 2am with your only light the flicker of the computer screen. Just one more game, you tell yourself, just one more game. This is indeed what you will be doing if you buy this game, great for the unemployable like me.

You really get into it and are always thinking of tactics or how you can improve your defense. Watching the matches it brilliant and this allows you to get a good idea of how your players are really performing, not just the stats that you get at the end.

Although I love this game you noticed I only gave it 4 stars this is because it will inevitably get boring but what doesn't when you play it 12 hours a day, everyday for 3 months. It's my own fault. Also for some reason at the end of a season your best player seems to go down with some freak injury and retire from the game, if this isn't bad enough the little b*****d stills plays for his national side.

So remember just one more game, just one more game. I thankyou.

Simply the worst 28 July 2000
By A Customer
This game is full of promise which it fails to deliver. It is a very addictive game, when it plays. It frequently crashes out and gives the blue screen of death on Win95/98. The latest patch from EA (latest meaning April 2000) helps to give more stability, but it still crashes far too often. You cannot even be sure that you will manage to complete a season, it can crash out after 5 minutes or 5 hours.

There are numerous bugs in the program, such as:

Free-kicks being given against you, as you score a penalty.

Games being awarded against you even though you have played to the final whistle and drawn.

You are also likely to be sacked if you've gone over budget for your players wages. This is despite having brought in Millions in transfer fees and finishing the season financially better than you started.

If you want and enjoy frustration at it's height, then this is the game for you. Otherwise buy Championship Manager Season 99/00, that is what I am going to do and use this CD as a coffee coaster.
