My wife wanted a stand to support her various cooking books during her baking sessions. So after looking at many types she decided on this one. It is perfect for her needs, it is very robust, will not slide about or fall over as some that she looked at and accepts many sizes of books. WOULD RECOMMEND.

This is a great sturdy bookstand. The only quibble I have (which I have informed Amazon about) is that it is listed as "Matt Black" when in reality it is a high gloss finish.

This item wasn't particularly well packed and on the front bottom corners there is a small cast iron piece that screws in and stops the books sliding off the stand. Read more

Cast iron does not bounce
Arrived smashed. Very bad packaging, wrapped in a piece of brown paper in a box far too big for it. Cast iron does not bounce! Probably would have been OK except for the above.

This is ok but the quality is pretty bad, mine came with a huge scuff on the top which was possibly caused by the paint not drying during manufacture. Read more
