Book Description

2 Jan 2010
There is a lot of bellyaching that goes along with pregnancy. This book is no different. Really Pregnant! Confessions of a New Mom-To-Be or Why I Couldn't Stop Eating Brownies is a book written by a former pregnant woman to other pregnant women. Even though every pregnancy is different, they all do have one thing in common: They can sometimes be a pain. However, within that pain, we can sometimes find commonalities that allow us to relate to each other. We're all women about to have babies and that's a big deal in and of itself, but that doesn't mean we have to take it too seriously. Because, really, pregnancy can be kind of funny. Really Pregnant! Confessions of a New Mom-To-Be or Why I Couldn't Stop Eating Brownies is the pregnancy book to buy if you want a funny look at what really happens once you find yourself pregnant.

4.0 out of 5 stars Truthful 16 Feb 2013

I bought a trillion pregnancy and birth books as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I read this cover to cover in about two days. It seemed very truthful and made me laugh. Was a good read, but I then passed it on as it's not the sort of thing I would refer back to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny yet informative. 25 Jan 2010
By Lisa Felix - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I was getting tired of all the other pregnancy books being so clinical when I ran across this one. It was like a breath of fresh air--a real woman going through real side effects of pregnancy. I laughed and agreed with most everything she said from page one. It had really accurate descriptions on pregnancy isses, along with some really funny stuff that made me laugh out loud from page one. A must read for any new mom-to-be!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money...buy some other book 12 July 2011

I am newly pregnant and was looking forward to hearing some funny stories and tips/information about pregnancy from someone who has done it and has the wisdom to share....Boy was I disappointed! This book reads like it was written by a whiny third grader due for a nap time. Now admittedly, I gave up reading halfway through and I suppose it is possible that the writer's entire writing style changed dramatically in the second half of the book and made it redeemable, but I doubt it. What is supposed to be humor comes across only as a continuous whine session and the author truly only describes a few symptoms which are then repeated ad nauseum throughout the remainder of the book. For example, she describes how her hormones are out of control and she has "mad cow syndrome" where she is mad at the world for every trifling thing and then a few sections later there is a section on how "I hate my husband" where she is mad at him for every little thing. Trust me on this, your 7 dollars is much better spent elsewhere, I know I wish I could have mine back to spend on something better! Buyer beware!
