I've just received this DVD and I did the workout yesterday. It is really good but a lot more of a workout than I expected. I think I was expecting it to be more focused on stretching but it is actually a very comprehensive workout that definitely gets the pulse raised and works into you muscles. My shoulders are aching today from all the puch ups!

I think I was looking for this kind of routine at 12 weeks but to start it at 28 weeks was a bit intense! I will carry on with it though and perhaps use the pause button and take my time. It is separated into two 20 minute workouts and 10 minutes stretching so you can just do one and then stretch.

Having been quite active before my pregnancy, my activity levels dwindled to zero in the first trimester, as extreme fatigue and nausea took its toll. I was determined to keep up my fitness levels, so I bought this DVD to keep fit at home, where I could grunt and pant away to my heart's content.

To start with, in my first trimester I was delighted that the instructor was also sporting a bump bigger than my own. I thought I'd find the activities a doddle as I wasn't as large as her, however I was quite puffed out after the standing section of the work out, which is not strenuous but does in fact seem to make a difference.

Fast forward to the second trimester when I next dusted off the DVD (I know!) and attempted the mat work exercises... my bump had suddenly overtaken the instructor, and I found myself scoffing in disbelief when, as I was attempting one tricky manoevre without squashing my unborn, she piped up something to the effect of "if you want something a bit harder..." er, no thanks.

Attempting the mat work section in the second trimester, I found she changed positions a little too quickly for me to keep up, so I missed a few of the repetitions by the time I'd positioned myself. Some of the moves in the mat work section would have been challenging for me to attempt even before I was pregnant, like the exercise which is a kind of side plank move(!), let alone now when my balance and co-ordination has been affected. So I didn't try those.

Utlimately I was disappointed with the mat work session but I will be doing the standing moves again as I thought they were quite effective without putting unnecessary strain on my expanding body. The stretch and relaxation section is good, but again, some of these moves are a bit optimistic.

I've been doing this DVD three times a week for the last two months (I started at 5 months pregnancy). I was doing a slightly toned down Jillian Michaels workout beforehand and was worried about losing a good workout session by going to a prenatal DVD, but this workout has been great. I get a sweat going, it's not the "dripping from the temples" kind which is not good at this stage in any case, but I do get a good all over sheen going within a few minutes as you focus on very specific muscle groups. The workout is really well structured and is very precise about how to do a move. It also strictly adheres to a specific number of repetitions in a set so that you know how far along you are if you're not watching the tv... some people may find that a bit dull but I find it ideal, especially for memorising the moves to do if I'm staying away from home and want to strike up my own workout without the dvd. It really works the whole body quite evenly and the 10 minute stretch at the end is like a total body yawn which left me feeling refreshed and energised, despite having that post-workout rubbery feeling! I feel equally as challenged and great after doing this workout than I have done with my more high-powered workouts pre-pregnancy and would definitely recommend this. An added bonus is that Suzanne Bowen isn't annoying or patronising during the workout, she gets on with it in a calm and quiet way to a point you can concentrate on yourself and not the guide.

I also do the Erin O'Brien prenatal DVD two times a week and can compare the two (I found both of these DVD's highly rated and found it hard to choose one, so got them both!).

I am 22 weeks pregnant and prior to descovering I was pregnant I would consider myself fairly fit (running about 10 miles a week). I wanted something to keep up my fitness without the high impact of road running.

The DVD is 50 minutes long with standing/floor and stretching sections. I have found some of the excercises quite challenging as my pregnancy progresses, but this is not necessarily a bad thing! The excercises concentrate on legs/bums with arm movement added in, so all the areas you need to keep toned during pregnancy...I have not felt 'out of breath' as the DVD is more for specific excercises rather than CV work.
