Headswim brought this album out in 1994, and in my opinion its one of the better rock albums of the 1990s. Although these guys didnt get the same exposure bigger name bands such as Placebo, Metallica, etc. They influenced my taste in music more than those other, larger bands ever did. This is an album you can listen to again and again without getting tired of.

If you like emotive lyrics, roaring guitars (ala. Therapy, Placebo or Nirvana), and music that makes your head swim.. then buy this album, you wont be dissapointed.

I am in agreement with the previous reviewer in that 'Flood' was one of the better albums of the 90's, although this is a very understated way of describing it. This album is very influenced by grunge yet it reaches well beyond it's boundaries. Great use of keyboards/synths. In fact I haven't heard anyone use them better in a rock context. EVER! Many of the songs on 'Flood' were my anthems for a long time. The lyrics are of the highest standard; beautiful, angry, searching. It would stand alone as great poetry. This is heartfelt where so many others try to force angst and depth into their music. Dan Glendining is without a doubt one of the best vocalists you will hear, and when he screams 'reaching......!' on 'Dead' you will be blown away! I used to listen to this section of the song over and over. It is one of those special moments, rarely heard in music. The riffs are heavy, melodic and original.

If you like grunge/post grunge Headswim will blow you away. I love Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Mudhoney but this has had more spins on my player than all of these put together. Treat yourself.

i was lucky enough to buy this album way back when it came out and it still sounds like the dogs knackers. quite what happened to the glendenning bros after this one fabulous album is a shame and a great musical travesty. dropping the best british grunge band (but with heavy organ)and going for a haircut and style shift was misguided and saw them quickly dissappear.

buy this album it really is very very good
