Sorry to start with comparisons to Carole King but if you're going to tread the well worn path of singer / songwriter plays piano, it's not a bad standard to set yourself. Incredibly self-assured debut album from Anna Krantz, still in her early twenties, who writes / arranges / plays keyboards and sings all 10 tracks. She even did the string arrangements!
The album's opener is 'Sweeter Devotion', a warm, summery song that sets the mood perfectly. The title track is a real highlight and 'Free Woman' has a really strong chorus. 'Pick Me Up' is very catchy too.
If you loved 'Tapestry', this may well be worthy of your investigation.
