Precious and the Monkey:Precious Ramotswe's Very First Case by Alexander McCall-Smith was a lovely short read which I enjoyed reading and I have left my childhood a good few years ago. Therefore I honestly believe that all ages would get something from this book parents and children alike. It is the perfect book which I do believe parents could use not only to show children the joys of reading but to introduce them to the author Alexander McCall Smith as he has a terrific gift for story telling.
The book introduces us the reader to Precious when she was a child at school and she was as loveable as she was when we meet her again in the main books which have many fans. Precious was indeed a lovely child who believed totally having proof before accusing those around her for doing bad things against her friends. We are brought into her school days and what a wonderful friend she was too all around her and the beautiful friendship she had with her Father as her Mother had died when she was younger. Not only was this book a good read, it had a lovely message for everyone.
What I really loved about this book when it comes to the younger age groups even with the kindle publication there are a few little illustrations to show the book to them that bit easier as I do believe all kids like to see pictures when hearing the story it makes it that bit easier for them to imagine the story within their minds.
This short story will bring a smile to all who read it and it is well advertised that the book is only a short read. It is a perfect introduction to all readers who have not read all the other books by the same author.
Precious and the Monkeys is a short read which I recommend to adults and children alike.
