5.0 out of 5 stars A lilting beauty, haunting and spacious, 7 Sep 2005

Martin Gore and Dave Gahan have delivered a real treat, which should find a strong audience outside of the hardcore Mode masses. Written in the aftermath of his divorce, Martin has managed to hit on a glorious rolling melodic line, handled tenderly by Dave. The track simply works effortlessly, like many great Mode singles do. A great blend of pop sensibility and routine Depeche gloom, this single will surely surprise those who only remember the psychotic clang of 20 years ago. Hail the Depeche Mode of 2005; classy and compelling.

5.0 out of 5 stars More DM quality!, 13 Oct 2005

Superb single and a worthy contender for the Enjoy The Silence crown (or deck chair?!)

Stomping return to form, great moody synth sounds and Daves voice is spot on... the chorus jumps out and bites you, the way it swirls around.

A single I just can't stop listening to, look forward with interest to the new album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic new single from Depeche Mode, 12 Oct 2005

I love this new song from Depeche Mode, and was pleased to hear what the brilliant Ben Hillier had done for them. This track is true DM through and through. Electronic, dark, brooding, about pain.
Also try tracking down the DJ Dan 4am or 6am remix from iTunes, as these two mixes of Precious are far superior to the Sasha effort.
Here's to seeing them in Birmingham next year!
