This book is well worth reading, it really shows the most rewarding way to pray, because it shows the way that God wants us to pray

Good for new believers 12 Sept. 2010
By Akabuko - Published on Amazon.com

This book was not what I expected. I thought it would be a guide on how to pray successfully. Instead it looked at some Psalms and interpreted them. It is more of a theology book on Christianity than a learning tool on prayer. You can easily do without it if you are just learning about prayer. As a theology book it is actually quite good.

Spurgeon strikes again! 28 Nov. 1999
By John C Dillingham - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
What a blessing this little book was to me! I bought my copy off a rack at Publix and thought I'd get more to give as gifts this Christmas. Spurgeon speaks plainly to the everyman in all of us. He addresses our fears and anxieties and leads us to the solution, over and over. It never gets boring, even when his conclusions are the same. The most profound of lifes problems are addressed in this little book, dealt with thoroughly and drop kicked into the dustbin. Go Chuck, go!

Praying Successfully 13 Dec. 2013

The book is old, and Spurgeon is gone, but his message (God's message) is still needed today. This book needs to be in everyone's library.
Thank you again Spurgeon 24 Dec. 2014
By Anita Gordon, Head Librarian - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Another Spurgeon gem. Let the Prince of Preachers teach you about true prayer--situational prayer, glorifying prayer. Pray with the words that the Lord Himself gives you. When you do this, you can expect a real and timely answer to your prayers. Plead His promises, cling to His mercy. Understand who you are when you speak to the living God. God delights to forgive where there is no reason for forgiveness but His own goodness.
You can never go wrong with Spurgeon. My favorite chapter was entitled "Real Prayer." I will never forget (or so I hope) that passage 'Call upon the Lord in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify Me.' The Lord tells us to call upon Him. Why? So He can deliver us. He wants to hear from us. He wants to deliver us, or He would not have said it. And as a result, we will glorify Him.
Powerful and Simple 15 Sept. 2012

Charles Spurgeon was an insightful and eloquent preacher. He loved our Lord Jesus very much and his love for the Word equalled his passion to communicate it to the people. Touching the heavenly Father with our prayers and hearing his burdens to pray for, is written by Mr. Spurgeon so simply and so powerfully, it's like the Holy Spirit is blessing his instructions and wisdom for us to follow. Read everything you can by him and especially get this book. If you love him you would also love Andrew Murray, the South African preacher who lived a little later than Spurgeon. They both had a great burden for God's church.
