Product Description

Product Description

The genius of St Alphonsus lies in his realization that all people everywhere are seeking intimacy with God. In his writings, St Alphonsus never tires of presenting the God who loves beyond anything that we can imagine. His aim is 'to back us into a corner' with such proof of God's love that we will learn to respond spontaneously to the God who calls us friend.

St Alphonsus believes that people learn to pray by praying. Instead of long explanations, you will find brief instructions and examples of intimate prayer with God. This booklet treats:

* Prayer as friendship with God
* Praise for the Gifts of Creation
* Praying in the Presence of God
* Prayer's for God's Forgiveness
* Seeking the Consolation of God
* Praying with Confidence in God

5.0 out of 5 stars St Alphonsus helps us to pray 21 Sep 2011
By Dom
St Alphonsus always wanted people to pray to God as a friend. In this book he shows how simple prayer can be. We learn to pray by praying - not by reading long books. He shows us some very simple helps.

A very good, and short introduction.

It is amazing to think that a book written so long ago would have so much relevance to today. For those who have difficulties with their religion and today's world, but still believe in their God, this book is a blessing as well as a practical help.

Love radiates throughout this little gift of a book and I think that this focus on love touches the reader on a personal level to examine their relationship between God and themselves. I Would recommend this beautiful book to everyone who seeks to explore God's personality and how to communicate with him. Teaching the reader how to do this in the most simplistic of ways. Understanding how easy it is to connect and love God as your best friend, bringing comfort and love into your lives every second of everyday.
. I was sorry this book ended..
