As a social work student who has recently secured employment in the family support/ child protection arena, I have found this book to be an excellent tool in helping me to prepare for the assessments I am now undertaking.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this book for anyone who is new to doing assessments and would like the support of a step-by-step guide. This book is one I have referred to many times!

What a find, I am a NQSW (Masters), and I felt I needed more guidance when thinking about and carrying out assessments - especially in Child Protection. You can select what question you want and build your own assessment framework if you want. Find this book invaluable.

I have had this book for four years, since when I qualified and it's amazing how I still refer to it now. It's great for anyone qualifying in social work as it takes you through the full assessment process, of planning, what questions to ask, intervention, techniques and review. I think every social worker should have this book.
