excellent 1 Feb 2011
By bailey
Format:Paperback
I bought this book and then ended up buying the set. I have tried on numerous occasions to learn french, but decided maybe my brain doesn't have the capability to learn a language.

Then i came across this, i did read the reviews and decided to give it one last go, im not fluent but i finally understand how one word can have so many different endings!

My parents live in france and are getting there in fluency (classes). While visiting i showed them my 'new' books and they said 'they were better then anything they had been given'.

So for there birthday they got a set!

Definatley a must, you really wont be dissapointed. The explanations are so well done.

I'm truly enjoying this book and delighted I bought it. I like the way one writes in the answers to questions at the end of each section and correct answers given at the back.

Geard towards more advanced French students 7 April 2011
By Sandro Munoz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This series of books is great for those wanting to tune up their existing French. This book assumes you've taken French for a while and it doesn't dumb things down. This is grammar and French grammar is notoriously difficult. This book is not recommend for those wanting to brush up on their rusty French before going on a trip to Paris. That said, as someone who studied French all through high school, this book is great for improving the French I already know.

The Missing Reference 15 Dec 2011
By Thomas Curry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Excellent learning aid! This forces the reader (gently, of course) into integrating all the various parts of the language into something you can use. It is well-written, with many clear examples that actually reinforce that lesson's topics. I don't necessarily suggest this for beginners, but would for those trying to improve their writing and speaking skills. It is well worth the investment.

Great Refresher/Skills builder 1 Jun 2011
By Leo Babic - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found this a great was way to stay fresh in between semesters or just to brush up on skills post graduation. We all paid a lot to learn French, why lose it because you do not use it. My only recommendation is if you could get an audio guide to help learn proper pronunciation and intonations.
