THE PRACTICE VOLUME ONE
Having only discovered The Practice because of my fondness for James Spader and William Shatner, I took the plunge and bought this DVD release. The first thing I noticed is that the DVD only has 13 episodes. So it includes the first season with the pilot and half the second season. I can't see any logic in releasing the first volume in this half arsed way. It must be a legal thing.
As for the show itself, I thought it was excellent. The cast is talented and likable. The scripts are tight and intelligent. All in all this is a very good show and I cannot recommend it highly enough. As a final note, I hope the seasons, which include Shatner and Spader, are released soon as that was the prime reason for my investment in this smart show.

Format:DVD
I discoverd this gem a couple of years ago flicking through the TV channels. I bought the DVD a couple of months ago. It has the first series but only a couple of episodes of the second. Whose stupid idea was that? It takes a lot to impress me and I can honestly say this programme is brilliant. The storylines are thought provoking as well as light hearted. What makes this show watchable is that the characters are believable and very likeable particulary 'Bobby' played compassionately by 'Dylan Mcdermott'. Although the series finished a few years ago it still holds up strong. The episodes with 'James Spader' has never been aired on British television which is a shame. With so many top reviews and requests for further epidodes what on earth is taking the company so long to release the rest of the series? I've given 3 stars because of the apathy of the company not releasing the rest of the DVDs. The show is a definite 5

This show was one of the greatest tv shows ever and for years I have waited for it to be released. This finally was, but it is not even the full season one and it adds a couple episodes in from season two, which makes no sense. Why can't they all be released, in order?? This show has it all, great writing, superb acting and a reality of what a law firm is like in the city of Boston that is struggling to make it. These lawyers have to defend anyone, the lowest criminals, just to make the rent. They often feel dirty and the viewer is certainly sucked in to each episode, feeling what they convey so wondrously onscreen. Terrific cast, I just wish I could own the whole series. The series is 5 stars, the DVD collection is less. David E. Kelley is a wonderful creator, but this is different than Ally Mcbeal and Boston Legal, it's not as funny, it's more dramatic and gritty.

Great But Faulty DVDs and no extras
