Miller and Jackson have produced a very useable reference book for pastors. I have utilized this book as a text for a class on counseling for pastors that I teach. What has been particularly helpful is the bibliographic material at the end of each chapter. The historical over view provides an excellent perspective for understanding one's own presuppositions. The chapter topics cover some of the most common problems a pastor will encounter. No single book will make a pastor into a great counselor but the tools provided in this volume provide a basic framework to help those coming to the pastor for help.
