This is the printmaking book I've been waiting for.
It describes many of the processes of printmaking, traditional (eg drypoint) and more recent (eg collagraph) with a good level of technical detail. For instance it gives excellent information on how to ink and wipe various levels in a collagraph, viscocity inking, preparing a copper plate. Many of these are covered (though not always as clearly) in the excellent Printmaking Handbook series. What this book does is bring all these techniques together, show how you can combine them, and tell you the practical way to do so. There are many excellent illustrations, by lots of printmakers, and, unusually, the book strives to tell you how each is achieved. It is a British publication, so there are none of the problems often experienced with US technical books having different terms and materials.
