This book is an invaluable guide for anyone who is considering translation as a career. It is especially good for those who, like myself, wish to become a translator but have no experience of the business. As the title suggests, it gives practical information on a variety of aspects of translation - the qualifications you need, the fors and againsts of working freelance versus in-house, information on how to charge for work, advice on the equipment necessary for the job - it even tells you how to sit at your desk to avoid straining yourself! I'm sure that I'll be dipping back into this book for help and advice in the coming years.
