This work provides circuits for a number of electronic music projects. all can be built at relatively low cost, and use standard,readily available components. the projects covered can be broadly divided in three categories: guitar projects, miscellaneous music projects and MIDI projects. The projects cover a range of complexities, but most are well within the capabilities of the average electronics hobbyist. The book demonstrates with very easy examples some small beginning projects in electronic gadgets (of a very practical nature). If you can do soldering you can also get this to work! Only objection is that the book is a bit old - some of the IC's used should now be replaced with newer (compatible) ones, but that is no big job.

Penfold's book is an excellent DIY enthusiast book.It is clear, readable and covers a lot of thing from guitar tuner to midi projects.Overall this book is thouroughly reccommended to anyone wishing to break into musical electronics as a hobby.
