Excellent for GPS and video/games users,

This review is from: Mili Powerskin MILI-HI-C20BLK The Worlds Thinnest iPhone Battery Case - Black (Electronics)
It does exactly what it says on the box.
The Mili PowerSkin bulks out the phone to about the same size as Sony Eriksonn P9xx series from a few years ago. Not too large, and very easy to grip despite its shiny surface. Its seems about the same weight too. I use GPS a lot on foot when visiting strange cities. Without the Mili I was getting roughly 3.5hrs battery life from my iPhone 3Gs using CoPilot software. With the Mili I haven't had to worry about battery life, as I was always back in either my car of my hotel well before both the batteries died. After a week of use now I haven't seen the Mili drop into its lowest charge state. Tip: If you have a PC or two USB socket chargers, to speed up the charging process charge the phone and the Mili seperately at the same time. When connected the Mili will first charge the phone, then charge itself, which doubles the charging time. Both phone and Mili take about the same amount of time to charge fully from a completely drained state. The Mili acts like a fully mobile boost charger, not a trickle charger. When its activated by a button press Mili will come to life, charge the phone completely, then go back to sleep again. So don't be concerned if your phone battery level gets quite low with the pack attached. Press the Mili charge button again and it will re-charge the phone back to 100%. Because its a boost charger that is intended for occasional operation there's also no problem with leaving the Mili in a seperate bag until its needed. Its easily added when its needed. There are four LED's along the side of the Mili that indicate the state of its charge. These light up for a while when the Milli's button is pressed. The indicators seem to be accurate. All in all, if you need a battery pack to boost your iPhone usage, you won't go far wrong with this one. Note: This product is the wrong interior shape for the original iPhone (2G/Edge) which pops off the charging connector. It doesn't claim to be suitable, but I thought it worth mentioning.

As the iPhone's battery life leaves a lot to be desired I invested in a MiLi Powerskin. The phone fits perfectly into the MiLi and although you end up with a phone about double the size I consider this a price worth paying for knowing your phone will definitely make it through the day, even with lots of calling, browsing, playing some tunes and videos.
With the phone in the Powerskin you can still charge both using the Powerskin's mini USB connector. You can also sychronise the phone without having to remove the powerskin. So far so good. Now for the problem. The powerskin has a small button on the side. The idea is that the iphone runs off it's own battery initially. When the iphone battery is running low - say down to 20% - you press the button on the powerskin and the powerskin re-charges the iphone. In reality the Powerskin has a mind of it's own. Sometimes the powerskin does what it should and waits for you to press the charge button, but at other times it starts re-charging when it feels like it. This often happens when the iphone still has plenty of charge, therefore you're getting very little benefit from the Powerskin. I have had two Powerskins and they have both exhibited the same fault. So I'm afraid I will be looking elsewhere.

Great battery pack but bad protection and reception,

This review is from: Mili Powerskin MILI-HI-C20BLK The Worlds Thinnest iPhone Battery Case - Black (Electronics)
I bought this pack based in reviews I had read and from what was available I the market. Firstly the actually case itself is sexy sleek and with a nice green and black finish. Also it doesn't significantly increase the size if tour phone. That's the positives.
Negatives - protection of phone is not full. The back and sides are covered but the front is on it's own. So care is still needed. The biggest negative though is that I have discovered a reduced reception performanc with the pack. Sometimes I simply have no service and I have to remove the pack and then I get service..... Why???? Overall good battery case but not without it's faults....
